Womans High Fashion
This shoot is one of my favorites! I took these at the Venue in Rigby, which has killer natural light. All of the wedding photos and most of the ones of hayley and Markehl are also natural light But the venue also has great background and a cool variety of modern looks. From the wall with the exposing brick to the whole brick wall, to the white wall. For the other light sources, I used a strobe light with soft boxes. And for the bubble stations, I used strobes with two different colored gels and a bubble machine.
My dad approached me a while ago and said that he liked some of my work and wanted to hang it up in his shop (He owns an auto repair shop). Since he is a very busy man, we have had quite a few different sit-downs while I showed him my work, and he showed me which ones he had in mind.
He picked out the ones he thought would look best for the walls in the shop, which I was impressed at how much of a creative eye he has. But, he is still currently deciding on how big he wants the prints to be. He would also like some custom made for the shop when he has time to think of an idea for it, but for now this is all he is asking for.
This was different than I was expecting because I thought I would be having to point out the different images that would go best with the design already in the rooms. To my surprise, he knew exactly what he wanted and what would look good in his shop. I almost felt like I was the amateur!
Mountain Lofts Interior
For this shoot I went into the lobby of mountain lofts apartment complex on BYU-I campus. I was trying to capture how cool the design of the lobby was. The architecture and set up made it look super cool and modern. I wanted to be able to achieve giving it that super cool modern feel in my photos. To do that I tried to give cool perspective and angles throughout the lobby. I tried to pick the ones that I felt best represented that feel.
Mountain Lofts Exterior Architecture
For this shoot I went to the mountain Lofts apartment complex on BYU – I campus and shot the exterior of the complex. This complex has such a beautiful design and feel to it, I really wanted to showcase that in my pictures. So I took it from a lower angle to sow how big and glorious Mountain Lofts is. Fortunately, The weather was good and gave me great lighting to work with. It was overcast which was awesome because there were no harsh shadows to be seen. It also illuminated the colors on the building very nicely. I took a couple different angles so that there would be a few different perspectives on the building.
Light painting is so awesome!
For those of you who don’t know what light painting is, its where you are in a dark place and you leave your shutter open. Then you use an outside light, like a flashlight, to paint the light where you want it! This is such a cool tactic because it gives you more control over how your images will turn out. It is so easy and gives your images such an awesome look to them. Also, this tactic will work with landscape, product, portrait, macro and basically any type of photography! Working with this gives you a better understanding of light and the power of it. hopefully you can see how awesome light painting is from all of these pictures.

Food photography is super fun! Getting the light just right can be hard at times, but if you can get it right, its so worth it! That is, if you don’t eat it first. I personally like to shoot people with the food because it gives it character. As you will be able to see from my photos. I also like more dark lit photos, unless it is with fruit. I feel like dark it photos give the photo more of a restaurant feel.
