My Top Pics
This semester has been really cool with all of the different opportunities to learn and expand my view on what I can accomplish shooting. I have better learned what my style is and how to go about achieving what I want. I love love love portraits. My end goal is thr journalistic rout and take piictures what inspire people and show raw emotion. I want to give people a voice that dont have one. But I also really like fashion and all of the cool vibes that gives off. Out of the portrait world, I really like fine art. I especially like macro out of that, and more abstract rout.
Womans High Fashion
This shoot is one of my favorites! I took these at the Venue in Rigby, which has killer natural light. All of the wedding photos and most of the ones of hayley and Markehl are also natural light But the venue also has great background and a cool variety of modern looks. From the wall with the exposing brick to the whole brick wall, to the white wall. For the other light sources, I used a strobe light with soft boxes. And for the bubble stations, I used strobes with two different colored gels and a bubble machine.
Men in the fashion world
I loved shooting these guys! They all gave out something so cool and unique to the station they were at. I loved using the natural light on the groom to give him that soft, light feeling. And then the two different colored gels on the bubble station really gave them a cool, fun feeling and its something so unique. And for everyone else, we used strobes to light them up. It just goes to show how much a background and an outfit can make really different, but really cool vibes.
Beautiful People Everywhere.
For this shoot, I was taking pictures of couples in all different styles. I had everything from wedding to bubbles to high fashion, and it was a blast! On the wedding photos I used all natural light, with a little help from a reflector. I love this light because it is so soft and matches the vibe of the image to a T. Also, huge thanks to the Venue in Rigby for letting us use their beautiful facility and Harts bu Laneige for lending us the dress. For the bubble station, we used two different colored gels and a bubble machine, which made for such a cool vibe! For the rest of them I used an auxiliary light with a soft box.
Mountain Lofts Interior
For this shoot I went into the lobby of mountain lofts apartment complex on BYU-I campus. I was trying to capture how cool the design of the lobby was. The architecture and set up made it look super cool and modern. I wanted to be able to achieve giving it that super cool modern feel in my photos. To do that I tried to give cool perspective and angles throughout the lobby. I tried to pick the ones that I felt best represented that feel.
Giving your Photo something a little extra!
For these shoots the objective was to use some special effects to really make the photos stand out. I used some fog and gels and some sugar on the berries. If you don’t know what gels are, they are colored plastic things you put over your light to make the light a certain color. For the berries I put up a black background so the berries would stand out. Then, I had a a clamp hod up the spoon to keep it still so that I could focus on it. To add a cool effect I sprinkled some sugar on the berries and it made the picture look awesome! For the fog pictures, I had two speed lights to light up either side of the subject. Then I put red and blue gels on the lights ti have a split color/light effect. Last I added the fog for a second and way cool special affect.
